Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
EMR helps clinicians significantly enhance the quality of medical care and increase the efficiency of medical practice. These tools may include reminder systems that identify patients who are due for preventive care interventions, alerting systems that detect contraindications among prescribed medications, and coding systems that facilitate the selection of correct billing codes for patient encounters. Immunization records can be printed with the push of a button. Registered portal patients are provided timely electronic access to their health information (including immunization records, family history, lab results, medication list, and allergies). Registered portal patients (see below) are notified that electronic clinical visit summaries (that include diagnoses, medications, and recommended treatment and follow-up) are available through our secure, interactive patient portal. A paper copy is also available upon request at the time of your visit (immediately available) or anytime thereafter (available within two days). EMR also enables our providers to have secure access to your child’s records from home or the emergency room.
Patient Portal
Pediatric Partners’ Patient Portal is a web-based system that serves as a secure communication link between the patient and Pediatric Partners. Once portal authorization agreement is completed and access is granted, patients can log in to the portal at https://11782.portal.athenahealth.com/ with their private user name and password to see information in their electronic record. This supports access to:
- Use the messaging feature to communicate with clinical staff
- View health summary information
- Send health summary information update requests
- View lab and other diagnostic test results
- Request an appointment
- Request a medication refill
- Print or save an electronic copy of your health summary or immunization record
Lactation Services/Consultation
Like most pediatricians, we strongly support breastfeeding. It has positive health benefits for both the baby and the mother. We also recognize that for a variety of reasons not all mothers choose to breastfeed and we are supportive of this decision.
We have a certified lactation consultant on staff, Kayla Janiga, RN, BSN, IBCLC. She usually will see a new breastfeeding mom the day after she leaves the hospital to address any problems as early as possible. Most insurance companies will require a co-pay for this visit.
Lab Services
Most routine labs can be done in our office with the results in less than 10 minutes. These lab services include rapid tests for strep, influenza, pregnancy and mononucleosis. We can do routine urinalysis and microscopic exams for things like ringworm, pin-worms and vaginal discharges. Some blood, stool and urine tests will be sent off to an outside lab with results the same day if needed. Depending on your insurance, you may receive a bill from the outside lab.
